Why We Built Qraffe

Some free QR generators add watermarks, require an account or route scans through their own links. That can leave your code dependent on a service you do not control.

We thought QR codes should be simpler than that. A QR code is just a container for information. It shouldn't need a login, a database or a company staying in business to keep functioning.

So we built Qraffe to do one thing well: turn your content into a clean, permanent QR code. Nothing more, nothing hidden.

How Qraffe works

Qraffe builds the QR payload in your browser, renders the code locally and lets you download it as a PNG or SVG. Your entered text, links, contact details, Wi-Fi credentials and uploaded logos stay in the browser while you work.

Before downloading, Qraffe checks common scan risks such as contrast, quiet zone, payload density, logo coverage and local decode success. These checks reduce common mistakes but they do not replace a scan test on the final printed material.

Static QR codes contain the chosen payload directly. Qraffe does not add a redirect or host a destination, so Qraffe cannot change, track or keep a code working after you download it. You remain responsible for the destination and for testing the final code.

How we publish guides

Qraffe guides are written to answer practical questions about creating, testing and using QR codes. We link to primary sources where a claim depends on a standard, platform or security authority.

We review articles when a product behaviour, security recommendation or linked source changes. Articles explain limitations as well as benefits and do not promise that every QR code will scan in every setting.

What we believe

Privacy by design

Your QR content and any logo you upload are processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, saved or logged. We built Qraffe so we couldn't see your data even if we wanted to.

No lock-in, ever

Every code Qraffe generates is static. The payload is baked directly into the image. There's no redirect layer, hosted link or Qraffe-side expiry. Once you download it, it's yours; to change its content, create a new code.

No dark patterns

No forced sign-ups, watermarks or feature gates. The QR code you download is the QR code you get.
WHAT MAKES QRAFFE DIFFERENT

Qraffe optimizes for one thing: a QR code that works, reliably, for as long as you need it to.

Some QR tools rely on tracking, feature gates or redirect links that can change later.

Built for the long run

Qraffe checks contrast, quiet zone, payload density and scan reliability before you download because a QR code is only useful if it actually scans, on the first try, on someone else's phone. We'd rather you catch a problem in your browser than find out after it's printed on a thousand flyers. These checks flag common risks, but the final material still needs a real-world scan test.
